presented by Tommaso Sbrana, CEO IVtech, Italy

The use of advanced in-vitro models to study a complex scenario, such as the breast cancer microenvironment, will be the focus of this webinar hosted by PELOBiotech GmbH.

Tommaso Sbrana, CEO of IVTech, will introduce these studies, highlighting the use of IVTech technology to increase the predictivity of in-vitro models if compared with human reality. Breast cancer is considered the most prevalent cancer worldwide. This type of disease could be treated with a combination of surgical removal and radiation therapy. Moreover, certain drugs are used to inhibit cancer growth and metastasis dissemination. However, more data are required to implement new therapies and detect new biomarkers correlated with the pathology at an early stage. In this context, advanced in-vitro models represent an alternative approach to investigate the mechanism involved in cancer development and spreading to other tissues. Methods: advanced in-vitro models are characterized by a 3D cells topology, exposed to a dynamic environment. In this webinar, two advanced in-vitro models will be introduced to demonstrate the efficacy of this approach.
