Webinars
From scientist to scientist, our team of experts loves to talk to you. We share insights and open discussions in free webinars. Join us, lectures are in English, German and some in French, Italian, Polish, Spanish too (if you wish).
We love to inform our international audience. Regularly and whenever we see a need.

EMERGE Episode 14 | Using an Orbitrap for Phosphoproteomics: Exploring the Effect of Some Parameters on Quantity and Quality
Presented by Seamus Morrone, Institute for Systems Biology Seatle, USA and ReSyn Biosciences, South Africa
Phosphoproteomics is a biologically important and dynamic field. Data-dependent mass spectrometry (DDA-MS) is the current gold standard for phosphoproteomics and high-throughput sample preparation is quickly becoming the norm, allowing access to instrumentation and data.

EMERGE Episode 13 | Development and optimization of a HTS proteomics workflow for biomarker discovery in clinical cohorts
Presented by Sergio Mosquim Junior, University of Lund, Sweden and ReSyn Biosciences, South Africa
Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer in the world. We establish a new semi-automated bead-based workflow for high-throughput processing of clinical samples, and further evaluate different acquisition methods.

EMERGE Episode 12 | RNA-Protein interactions in Space and Time
Presented by Eneko Verdejo, University of Cambridge, UK and ReSyn Biosciences, South Africa
The webinar will focus on two multi-omics methodologies that probe the crosstalk between the RNA and the protein worlds, with a specific focus on characterizing RNA-protein interactions and RNA and protein subcellular localisation.

EMERGE Episode 11 |Protein aggregation capture sample preparation provides a platform for MS-based secretomics in the study of metabolism
Presented by Daniel Cervone, Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Denmark, and ReSyn Biosciences, South Africa
Sample preparation for ‘bottom-up’ proteomics is a major determinant for efficient sample clean-up and digestion, strongly influencing downstream peptide identifications and analyses. The team identified novel proteins potentially involved in inter-organ crosstalk and metabolism.

EMERGE Episode 10 |Trapped ion mobility-resolved (phospho)proteomics of clinical samples
Presented by Florian Meier, Jena University Hospital, and ReSyn Biosciences, Southafrica
This presentation will showcase applications of dia-PASEF to analyze the proteome and phosphoproteome of clinical samples with high throughput and high sensitivity.

Digital event |
EMERGE Episode 9 | Serial proteome profiling in human and animal cardiac tissues by data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry (DIA-MS)
Presented by Dr. Christof Lenz, University of Göttingen and ReSyn Biosciences, Southafrica
Due to the inherent challenges in obtaining samples, biomolecular cardiovascular research has often relied on cellular or animal model.

Islet Viability and Potency Testing
Presented by Klearchos K Papas, Institute for Cellular Transplantation, University of Arizona, Cell Transplant and Regenerative Medicine Society
The challenge for all laboratories manufacturing islets for potential transplantation is what menu of the tests available to assess islet viability and potency. Can they meet the standards specified by the FDA regulations above? Where do these methods fall short? The webinar will review the current state of the art and note areas for future development.

PELOAcademy | Glaucoma - One Step Ahead with In-vitro Models
Presented by Tommaso Sbrana, CEO IVtech, Italy
Glaucoma is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by optic nerve damage and the slow progressive death of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). At the
early stage, this pathology is almost asymptomatic but, over time, it affects the peripheral and then the central vision, leading to progressive and irreversible blindness.

PELOAcademy: The Ultimate Lebkuchen 101 / Aus Lothars Geheimen Rezeptbüchern
Presented by Dr. Lothar Steeb , CEO & CSO PELOBiotech
Workflow-Series: The Ultimate Lebkuchen 101. Enjoy on this festivity: Lothar will tell you about his family's secret Lebkuchen recipe – but only a little bit :-).

Challenges of Recovering Islets from Chronic Pancreatitis Patients
Presented by Gopalakrishnan Loganathan, Ph.D., University of Louisville, USA
Islet yield is the critical factor for the success of autologous islet transplantation. The higher the islet yield, the higher probability of the recipient will have an easier time managing iatrogenic diabetes created by this procedure.

Digital event |
Overcoming the Challenges of Low Islet Recovery from Young Organ Donors
Presented by Balamurugan N. Appakalai, Ph.D. Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH, US
Human islet isolation from young donors is problematic. Application of standard islet isolation methods to donor pancreata less than 32 years old (YO) often results in low islet recovery. Low recovery reflects the ineffectiveness of current methods to separate the islets from acinar tissue, leading to high percentages of mantled/embedded islets.

Workflow-Series: Can Cell Culture be as good as in vivo today?
Part 7 Tissue & Cell-Sourcing
Presented by Dr. Peter Frost, CEO PELOBiotech
