At PELOBiotech, we can look at a bright success story of 3D technologies. As our founder has developed and established several systems and approaches into now leading 3D companies, we may say, yes, we know 3D and yes, we can definitely help to find the best solution for your research.
That´s why we offer a broad range of 3D technologies to produce 3D Cell Culture models and Cell Culture assays ready-to-use and as kits. We are always looking for prospecting innovative 3D technologies. We offer:
Cell Culture Systems can be developed following different strategies. Depending on the cell or cell line to be used and the application of interest different strategies has to be selected. 3D Cell Models can be produced by using hydrogels, scaffolds, hanging drop or bioprinting techniques. We at PELOBIOTECH like you to offer a broad portfolio of different 3D Cell Culture techniques to give you the chance to select the best models for your application.
3D CoSeedis from our partner abc biopply (CH) is a brand new scaffold-free 3D co-culture system. It can be used for spheroid formation, organoid formation and 3D co-cultures. To learn more about 3D CoSeedis just click here or visit www.abcbiopply.com!
We offer cancer spheroids (ready-to-use) for different indications and applications (Spheroid Formation Assay & Compound Testing).
For Cancer Stem Cells (CSC) we offer a unique and innovative ready-to use solution for drug compound testing, Cell2Sphere. Read more here.
CELL2SPHERE can been used as a spherpoid formation assay and as a spheroid viability assay.
3D Skin Model & 3D Airway Model
Our partner Cell Applications has developed both 3D Models, which come as a complete kit with cryo-preserved validated human cells and all reagents necessary.
3D organotypic skin models are widely used in evaluation of the skin barrier function, cosmetic ingredients testing and toxicology. Only four skin models are validated by the OECD so far for corrosion testing which is an important assay in the development of new ingredients for cosmetics. Many research groups are ongoing to develop further skin models for different application (e.g. dermatosis models, basic research).
Human 3D Skin Model produced of Human Epidermal Keratinocytes
3D organotypic airway models are widely used in evaluation of the lung barrier function, for drug developments and toxicology. Many research groups are ongoing to develop further airway models for different application.
Organoids (3D tissues near physiology and self renewing) can be generated from tissues (e.g. crypts, Lgr5+ or other tissue derived stem cells) or from ES/iPS cells. The organoids are cultured in ECM mixtures together with growth factors. We offer different products for organoid cultures:
PerfusionPal provides uniform perfusion, gas delivery, and stable pH for 48 mini-organs per plate.
Enjoy high cell sensitivity in dozens of assays that work as in ordinary multiwell plate.
The starter system includes a dual syringe pump, two 48-well perfusion plates, and a proprietary blood substitute. Place the pump outside the incubator and you are ready to go.
Our partner IVTech has developed single flow biorectors to develope 3D dynamic in vitro models.
LiveBox 1 (LB1) is designed for inter-connected dynamic cell cultures ((e.g. cornea and liver models).
LiveBox 2 (LB2): is designed to developed physiological barrier models (e.g. lung and intestinal epithelium) in-vitro.

Our partner SynVivo has developed microfluidic-based chips. These cell based assays provide morphologically and biologically realistic microenvironments and allow real-time study of cellular behavior, drug delivery and drug discovery – fast and cost effective, for industry and pharma research.
Basic applications are for example:
• Inflammation (leukocyte-endothelium)
• Cancer (tumor-endothelium)
• Thrombosis (platelet-endothelium)
• Infection (microbial-endothelium)
The SynVivo® microfluidic cell-based assay platform has been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Innovations” by The Scientist magazine.
