3D Skin Model & 3D Airway Model

Our partner Cell Applications has developed both 3D Models, which come as a complete kit with cryo-preserved validated human cells and all reagents necessary.
3D organotypic skin models are widely used in evaluation of the skin barrier function, cosmetic ingredients testing and toxicology. Only four skin models are validated by the OECD so far for corrosion testing which is an important assay in the development of new ingredients for cosmetics. Many research groups are ongoing to develop further skin models for different application (e.g. dermatosis models, basic research).

3D organotypic airway models are widely used in evaluation of the lung barrier function, for drug developments and toxicology. Many research groups are ongoing to develop further airway models for different application.

Organoids (3D tissues near physiology and self renewing) can be generated from tissues (e.g. crypts, Lgr5+ or other tissue derived stem cells) or from ES/iPS cells.  The organoids are cultured in ECM mixtures together with growth factors. We offer different products for organoid cultures:

  • Tissue dissociation enzymes
  • Crypts (mouse/human)
  • Lgr5+ stem cells and other tissue derived stem cells
  • ECM proteins & hydrogels (Collagen, Fibronectin, Laminin)

LiveBox 1 (LB1) is designed for inter-connected dynamic cell cultures ((e.g. cornea and liver models).

LiveBox 2 (LB2): is designed to developed  physiological barrier models (e.g. lung and intestinal epithelium) in-vitro.

Microfluidic Chips

Our partner SynVivo has developed microfluidic-based chips. These cell based assays provide morphologically and biologically realistic microenvironments and allow real-time study of cellular behavior, drug delivery and drug discovery – fast and cost effective, for industry and pharma research.
